“We are truly honored that these three orthopedic residents have chosen to trust us with their specialized training and education in primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement,” said Dr. Michael Meneghini, CEO and founder of Indiana Orthopedic Institute. “Education and training the next generation of orthopedic hip and knee surgeons requires investing in the pipeline of medical students, orthopedic surgery residents, and fellows.”

The fellowship includes two rotations at the Indiana Orthopedic Institute and experience at IU-affiliated facilities. Dr. Meneghini, a renowned joint replacement surgeon and professor, is part of the supervising faculty for the program.

“These three individuals will join a lineage and family of Indiana hip and knee replacement fellows that we have had the incredible privilege and honor of training and educating over the past 15 years,” Dr. Meneghini said of the program, which launched in 2012.

The Adult Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship is well-rounded and encompasses nearly all aspects of lower extremity adult reconstruction, including primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. The experience also includes unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, minimally invasive surgical techniques, direct anterior and posterior approaches for total hip arthroplasty, and computer-assisted and augmented-reality surgical techniques.
