Dr. Andrew Kapsalis is a fellowship-trained, board-certified podiatric surgeon who treats a wide array of foot and ankle issues and injuries.

He is a lifelong learner and brings that attitude to patient care. Dr. Kapsalis’ clinical scope is anything below the knee, including ankle replacement, foot and ankle reconstructive and revision surgeries, deformity and bunion correction, sports medicine, pediatric foot and ankle conditions, peripheral nerve surgery, and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Kapsalis seeks to treat patients as he would want his own family to be treated. He focuses on educating the patient and family members about all treatment options, including both surgical and nonsurgical options. His desire to go into medicine is to help people heal and improve their quality of life.

He shares core values with the Indiana Orthopedic Institute, focusing on making evidence-based decisions grounded in research and on providing optimal outcomes for patients that also help hold down costs for patients and the healthcare system.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kapsalis has focused on studying and improving surgical techniques and medical devices. He has also been deeply involved in the training of residents and fellows and has traveled across the nation to train other surgeons.

Dr. Kapsalis is a native of Fishers, attending Hamilton Southeastern Schools K-12, before majoring in biology at Wabash College, where he was a four-year letter winner in soccer. He then studied at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in North Chicago and completed a residency at Loyola University Medical Center in association with the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital. He returned to Indiana for the year-long American Health Network Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship.
